Google shutting down social networking site Google+ in April

Google announced it is shutting down the service on April 2.

Google launched Google+ in 2011 in an attempt to compete with other social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, but the service never really caught on.

Google says once it shuts down the social networking site, everything will be deleted, which means any photos or videos posted on Google+ will disappear too.

Google has set up a page where users can download their Google+ data.

Users can download all data or specific files.

It’s important to note that photos and videos stored in Google Photos will not be deleted, and that this only applies to content shared on Google+.
